CDL Instructor – Full-Time or Part-Time

Overview:
CDL Instructors at Truck Master School are the backbone of our training program. Instructors are not just teaching—they’re leading, guiding, and mentoring future truck drivers from day one through graduation. This role requires strong communication, calm under pressure, and the ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities—from hands-on training to coordinating vehicle maintenance and DMV readiness.
We’re looking for professionals who take pride in what they do, stay positive even when things get busy, and want to help others succeed while continuing to grow themselves.
Full-Time Instructor Schedule:
Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
•Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
•Full-time presence and dependability required
Optional Night Shift (As-Needed Coverage):
• Monday–Wednesday & Thursday: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
• This schedule is covered by separate part-time instructors, but full-time team members may be asked to help cover when needed
Part-Time Night Instructor Option:
We are also accepting applications for dedicated night instructors to teach evening classes only. This is a great opportunity for part-time applicants.
Responsibilities:
• Train and supervise students in pre-trip inspections, yard maneuvers, and road driving
• Monitor student progress and grade them before DMV testing
• Keep student DMV appointments on schedule and track pass/fail outcomes
• Use scheduling software and maintain student calendars
• Ensure trucks are fueled, washed, and ready for use daily
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs with mechanics proactively
• Keep truck maintenance logs and report issues promptly
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional yard and vehicle area
• Manage and support groups of students while staying positive and clear
• Stay involved from start to graduation—your goal is to help every student pass
• Lead with structure, safety, and professionalism every day
• Attend required training and stay up to date with regulations and industry updates
• Participate in continued education and obtain required certifications if not already held
Requirements:
• Class A CDL license (must have held for at least 2 years)
• Instructor certification preferred—but not required to start
• Must be willing to obtain certification and complete any required courses while employed
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in training, mentorship, or leading teams is a plus
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a bonus
